Review

So, if you know me then you know that my all time favorite Star Wars character is… Thrawn!!!! Who is only the best villain in the history of villains!!!!!!!!!! I have read the old series on Thrawn (Heir to the Empire) and I also read the new books (Thrawn). All the books are by the same author, Timothy Zahn; and let me tell you, this guy can write. He has written several Star Wars books and apparently other books as well.

Anyways, the first book (In the new trilogy) was REALLY hard to read. I did enjoy it, and I do suggest it, but it was Hard to get through. So, then I saw this book, and was like, “Ehhhhhhhhh… Maybe not.” And I didn’t get it for a long time. But I was at the library and saw it, so I decided to give it a second chance. And boy am I grateful I did!

The book is very good, and has both Thrawn AND Darth Vader in it. (Two of my favorite bad guys in one book… Where’s Boba Fett when ya’ need him?) The book does unfortunately have curse words in it, but they aren’t Really bad ones. And I apparently need to warn you about the violence too. But in my opinion, if you pick up a Star WARS book, you should know that there is going to be some violence.

Over all, I LOVE THIS BOOK, and I HIGHLY suggest it to any Star Wars fans! I do think this is more of a teen to adult book, and isn’t really meant for kids. (Sorry. But it’s true.) I really hope someone falls in love with this book like I did, cause this is a great book!!!!!!! -The Young Llama Reader.

Pros

  • AWESOMENESS!!!!!!
  • A great book for teens and adults!
  • And…THRAWN!!!!!!

Cons

  • Star Wars so, ‘Duh!’ violence
  • Some curse words

“I have sensed a disturbance in the Force.”

Ominous words under any circumstances, but all the more so when uttered by Emperor Palpatine. On Batuu, at the edges of the Unknown Regions, a threat to the Empire is taking root—its existence little more than a glimmer, its consequences as yet unknowable. But it is troubling enough to the Imperial leader to warrant investigation by his most powerful agents: ruthless enforcer Lord Darth Vader and brilliant strategist Grand Admiral Thrawn. Fierce rivals for the emperor’s favor, and outspoken adversaries on Imperial affairs—including the Death Star project—the formidable pair seem unlikely partners for such a crucial mission. But the Emperor knows it’s not the first time Vader and Thrawn have joined forces. And there’s more behind his royal command than either man suspects.

In what seems like a lifetime ago, General Anakin Skywalker of the Galactic Republic, and Commander Mitth’raw’nuruodo, officer of the Chiss Ascendancy, crossed paths for the first time. One on a desperate personal quest, the other with motives unknown . . . and undisclosed. But facing a gauntlet of dangers on a far-flung world, they forged an uneasy alliance—neither remotely aware of what their futures held in store.

Now, thrust together once more, they find themselves bound again for the planet where they once fought side by side. There they will be doubly challenged—by a test of their allegiance to the Empire . . . and an enemy that threatens even their combined might.
