Review

I REALLY liked this book. It was funny, interesting, and just plain awesome!!!!! This is the “True Story” of Rumpelstiltskin and it is SOOOOO COOL!!!!!!!! (And very magical too!)

The book is about a boy named Rump… (poor kid..) And it is about him trying to find his destiny! (That hopefully doesn’t “End” with a “Rear”! Did ya’ see what I did there…No?… Nevermind!)

The story is very clean but there is magic. Biting pixies, magical gold, curses, trolls, and evil queens!!! (Sounds like my kind-of book, now throw in some lightsabers and we’ll be good!) The magic is all clean. No ‘voo-doo’ or creepy stuff; just ya normal magical boy named Rump.

Over all, I suggest this book if you are looking for a book that’ll make ya’ smile! This would also be a good book for younger books who like fairytales as well. -The Young Llama Reader.

Pros

  • A very funny, magical adventure!
  • A good magical book for younger boys!

Cons

  • Some violence
  • Lots of magic and curses

In a magic kingdom where your name is your destiny, 12-year-old Rump is the butt of everyone’s joke. But when he finds an old spinning wheel, his luck seems to change. Rump discovers he has a gift for spinning straw into gold. His best friend, Red Riding Hood, warns him that magic is dangerous, and she’s right. With each thread he spins, he weaves himself deeper into a curse.

To break the spell, Rump must go on a perilous quest, fighting off pixies, trolls, poison apples, and a wickedly foolish queen. The odds are against him, but with courage and friendship—and a cheeky sense of humor—he just might triumph in the end.
